Richel — From Registered Nurse to Full-Time Rental Investor

For years, Richel dedicated her life to helping others as a registered nurse. Long shifts, overnight schedules, and endless hours at the hospital taught her discipline and resilience, but deep down she knew she wanted to create more freedom for herself and her family.

That journey eventually led her into real estate investing.

Richel first became interested in rental properties after purchasing a small single-family home as an investment. What started as a side project quickly became a passion. After seeing the benefits of consistent rental income and long-term appreciation, she began focusing on DSCR loans to expand her portfolio.

“I loved the idea of building wealth through cash-flowing properties instead of relying only on my paycheck,” Richel explained. “Real estate gave me a completely different perspective on financial freedom.”

Her strategy centered around acquiring single-family homes and duplexes in growing markets with strong rental demand. Using DSCR financing allowed her to qualify based on the property’s income rather than her personal income, making it easier to continue scaling her investments.

Like many investors, Richel faced obstacles along the way. Learning property management, analyzing deals, and balancing her nursing career with investing was challenging at first.

“There were definitely moments where I felt overwhelmed,” she said. “But every property taught me something new. The more experience I gained, the more confident I became.”

Today, Richel has transitioned into full-time real estate investing and continues to grow her rental portfolio. What started as a side investment has become a long-term business focused on creating passive income and financial stability.

“Real estate changed my life,” Richel shared. “It gave me options, freedom, and a future I never thought was possible.”
